If you click on any picture you get to look at a bigger one! Just in case.
Mark on VK3/VE-129 squirting a few more pictures on 40m and 30m.
Better signal on 40m then 30m. But less static crashes on 30m.
Also VK2YK emailed the picture he recieved. Much better copy then me!
And what does a burst of noise look like on an SDR?
"I am glad you asked" " Here's one I prepared earlier..."
Mark squrted out a few pictures when he was on VK3/VE-208 today.
He sent the same picture three times in Scottie II as he was learning about the app on his phone. Can clearly see the static crashes and signal fades in the pictures. All on 30m. And as mark said "there's not much else to look at but bush up here!"
First thing I spotted as I was receiving the picture was the Helinox chair. Great kit ;)
And later Mark was on PSK. Here he is working VK2HRX for PSK S2S.
Another extended camping trip with SOTA thrown in. Nothing went to plan and I didn't get to any summits!
Altitude, mud, horses, wrong bike type, another flat tyre and my guts were all working against me getting anything done.
Read MoreGot leave to spend a few night away camping. Decided on Bakers Downfall Hill. So packed up all my camping gear and headed North again.

Worked Peter VK3ZPF on 12m when he was on VK3/VC-037 at 06APR14 04:00z. And I was commenting on the multipathing and Peter asked for a recording. So here ya go Peter.
And here is what Peter was hearing.
Reading EA2CW's blog and he mentioned DL4MFM's database tools. So I did search and found this neat collections or online programs that will take snippits of your SOTA log and produce fancy tables with stats and what not.
Sweet aye?
Still like to work out how EA2CW made that map thou....
Four days of rain. Planned to activate a whole bunch of peaks and spend the night on some for some DX. Didn't work out that way at all. All up did 1300km and only activated four summits.
Instead of spending each night on a summit I fled the rain and crashed at VK2JDS Dave's and VK2XPH Phillipa's each night (thanks guys).
So two summits I had planned and two summits I hadn't planned for.
Read MoreMade 2500 chaser points today when I worked Mike 2E0YYY/P on 20m @ 07:08z. Has taken me under six months to get here.
Last nights insanity on 12m helped! Fifteen 12m summits in one sitting sure pushes my score up. Which also leaves me close to my goal of being in the top 50 for the 12m Challenge.
Just around the corner from home is VK/HU-093 Mt Elliot which I haven't activated yet. So with the good conditions to EU around sunset I decided to whizz over and get it done.
Read MoreHad to drop the wife at the station at 4am so I decided to play radio all night. Only way I was going to catch the NA activators. Chased NA6MG in the W6 association. Grabbed him on two different peaks on 12m and 20m to qualify the association.
Another excursion into the New England over the Australia Day long weekend. Revisit of some sites I worked last year, reccy to some sites I'd like to work and two new sites. Lent up being a 806km trip.
Had Rain, Wind and some trying condtions. Up the coast to Wauchope then inland up into the New England. Plan was to be out amongst it for four days and activatve at least nine summits. Well.. "The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men". I wanted to check out access to the Ben Halls Gap N.P. and get back into Barrington Tops N.P. for the final night.

Been picking off a few of the EUs on 12m. Been good fun. Nice to have a new weak signal toy to play with. Been having withdrawal. Also mave moved up the list for the 12m Challenge in the top 100 now.
Ya gotta get on CW guys. It's not that hard to listen for your own callsign and then to hear 3 numbers (and one of those numbers will be 9 or N!!). Most new radios have a keyer in them and some have pre-programed CW macros.
Here's a few emails I have received from activaters I've chased.
Read MoreA trip up into the New England for my first activations. Decided to be out over New Years Eve and maximum points for my outing. Not that I am known to "milk" the rules to maximise any points I get........
Up to Gloscester onto Thunderbolts Way for the first two sites. Then over to the Oxley Hwy through Walca, up to Armidale and onto Grafton Road for the last two sites. New Years Eve in a tent in the bush. What could be better?
